I then got a part-time position as a Resident Services Assistant in our emergency shelter, and after 3 months was promoted full-time as the Administrative Advocate at our main office and have been in my current position for a little under 2 years. I have a strong passion for assisting victims of violence, and hope to continue working with this population as long as I can. When I am not at the office, or working on schoolwork, I am most likely outdoors with my dog! I can’t wait to engage with other women of fellow YW’s to continue developing my leadership skills and build connection with those who share a similar mission and passion.

My earliest career and research interests were how to invest in women of color and end the cycles of poverty that affected low-income women and girls of color. I decided I wanted to be like the women who broke glass ceilings and reinvested into our community. I am excited to learn and grow with the women of this cohort.
